First 5 minutes

  1. Move your pet away from the substance and keep the packaging or a photo of the plant.
  2. Do NOT make your pet vomit unless a vet or poison hotline tells you to.
  3. Note what was eaten, roughly how much, and when.
  4. Call your vet, a 24-hour emergency clinic, or a pet poison hotline right now.
  5. If your pet is collapsing, seizing, or struggling to breathe — go straight to the nearest emergency clinic.
