Yes. Plain cooked rice is safe and easy to digest. Vets sometimes suggest a short bland diet of rice with boiled lean chicken for mild stomach upset, but it isn't a balanced long-term diet.
White vs brown
White rice is gentler on an upset stomach. Brown rice has more fibre. Both are fine in small amounts for healthy dogs.
Avoid
- Fried rice, seasoned rice, rice with onion or garlic
- Using a bland diet for more than a few days without a vet check
