Is it normal for a puppy to have diarrhea?

Mild, short diarrhea is common in puppies after a food change or stress. But puppies get dehydrated fast and can catch parvovirus, so be careful.

Call a vet the same day if: your puppy isn't fully vaccinated, vomits, won't eat, seems tired, or there's blood. Parvovirus is serious and contagious.

Also common: worms and giardia. Bring a fresh stool sample to the vet.
